Dr. Celeste Watkins-Hayes was interviewed by Positively Aware editor-in-chief and Community Collaboration Board member Jeff Berry to preview her session at AIDS 2020: Virtual, addressing the “injuries of inequality” in the HIV/AIDS pandemic, and the social drivers of, and responses to, the epidemic at the structural, institutional and individual levels.

Dr. Watkins-Hayes is a Professor of Sociology and African American Studies at Northwestern University, and an advisor to the Third Coast CFAR Behavioral, Social, and Implementation Sciences Core. In 2019, she published her second book, Remaking a Life: How Women with HIV/AIDS Confront Inequality, the Eliot Freidson Outstanding Publication Award winner from the from the American Sociological Association.
