Center Director of Research: Holds a leadership role in developing the research agenda for the Center. Oversees the research management and data analysis teams. Responsible for the day-to-day management and operations and will serve as a liaison to administrative units of the University and with external partners. Serves as a highly motivated Director and relationship builder with experience working in either an academic and/or a nonprofit research/policy center environment. Oversees research staff recruitment and retention, budgeting, strategic planning and implementation.
Oversees research proposals to be submitted to governmental and non-governmental agencies. Collaborates with faculty, students, and other leaders across campus and within HIV, STI, justice-involved populations and substance use to foster multi-disciplinary research and programming within the Center. Lead and/or participate in teams or small working groups to conceptualize research topics, perform systematic reviews of evidence, and facilitate the prioritization of research questions.
Develops print and electronic materials (e.g., presentations, report, fact sheets). Manages the compilation and dissemination of research findings and tools via an online depository and other platforms such as peer review journals, media, and public/professional speaking engagements thus creating a strong brand for the Center. Works closely with the development office, leads fundraising efforts for the Center, and supports broader fundraising efforts. Collaborates with others to make the center a valuable resource to faculty and contributes to the broad goals of creating a stronger campus community.
Working with other staff, the Center Director of Research represent the Center and its work as appropriate and stays abreast of policy and program developments in sexual and reproductive health.
Applicants must 1) have a master’s degree (doctoral degree preferred), and 2) a minimum of ten years of program/project management experience.
