Third Coast Center for AIDS Research member, Lauren Beach, PhD, JD, is the director of a new research program dedicated to clinical and translational health equity for sexual and gender minorities, with Associate Director Sumanas Jordan, MD, PhD. The Advancing Opportunities in Clinical and Translational Equity in SGM Health Program, or ADVOCATE SGM Health Program, will be housed at the Institute for Sexual and Gender Minority Health and Wellbeing (ISGMH). Dr. Beach is a research assistant professor in medical social sciences at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and a core faculty member at ISGMH. They are a former NHLBI K12 scholar and current CFAR awardee.
