The Mechanistic Role of the Microbiome in the Pathobiology of Heart, Lung, Blood, and Sleep Diseases (R01 – Clinical Trial Not Allowed).

The purpose of this FOA is to support functional microbiome research focused on understanding the molecular, immunological and physiological mechanisms by which the microbiota (gut, lung, oral, including bacteria, viral and fungal microflora) and its derived factors modulate heart, lung, blood and sleep (HLBS) biology and physiology to promote health or contribute to disease.
