Eva Gottwein, PhD, Assistant Professor in Microbiology-Immunology

The Eva Gottwein lab studies oncogenic mechanisms of Kaposi’s Sarcoma-associated herpesvirus. Available projects focus on virally encoded microRNAs, the cell biology of KSHV-infected endothelial cells, and the investigation of viral B cell transformation using CRISPR/Cas9.

Successful applicants are highly motivated with strong hands-on experience and knowledge in cell biology, molecular biology, cancer biology and/or virology. A strong background in microscopy, molecular biology, bioinformatics and/or genomics is a plus. Ability to work independently and a high degree of self-motivation is a must. This position requires excellent communication skills, including good spoken and written English.
